About Us

We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded with the purpose of enhancing lives thru the unconditional love of dogs.

We can accomplish our mission by raising, nurturing, socializing dogs and puppies, and providing information and recreational activities with the help of our dogs in training.

Here at Aussome Aussies, we are driven by a single goal; to change lives and make your life "AUSSOME". Sounds deep for someone that breeds occasionally, but we want to produce well-versed dogs that will be successful in any venue. Most importantly, we want to pursue our mission.

We are dedicated to raising Aussies that will excel as service dogs, facility dogs, therapy dogs, and emotional support dogs to be donated to service dog organizations, facilities in need of a therapy dog, or individuals with a physical or emotional disability.

Our dogs are not in a kennel, they are our family members and receive not only our full individualized attention but all the health testing necessary to ethically produce amazing puppies. We as a family devote our time to making sure our puppies are well socialized and exposed to many different sounds, smells, and sights so they are ready to face their mission.

We want to make a difference in many lives by raising simply "Aussome" puppies.

Our Story

It all started with a dream...

Australian Shepherds have been our favorite breed since 2002 and I have been involved in obedience, agility, and conformation events.

In 2003 I met my better half and after getting married in 2005 we continued to participate in many UKC and AKC events. But that's when the dog passion had to be placed on pause and it was time to raise my kids. Fast forward to 2017 when I truly understood the power of healing in dogs.

I spent countless hours researching, studying, reaching out to many people, and observing. I had found my purpose. I want to change lives, bring smiles to many and make sure everyone knows they can live a fulfilling life!

I am here to share my journey, and my passion, and hope our dogs can make an impact in this world.

I raise Australian Shepherd puppies and I will assure you each one of them will be nurtured, go thru early neurological stimulation, scent Introduction, start on a few basics of a crate, obedience training, and go thru temperament evaluation.

After evaluation, we will determine which puppies will have the best chance of succeeding as service dogs and those will be donated to qualified service organizations or directly to trainers working with individuals to assist with a disability.

We hope our dogs can make a difference, after all...

Ginger is without a doubt the leader of the pack, she is the sweetest and most loving momma and you can't help but smile when you see her squints, smiles and wiggle butt. She is everything I would ever dream of when it comes to stable temperament.

Ginger is the foundation of our program and we are thankful every single day for her.
She also has all the health clearances (as listed below) and has produced some incredible puppies that are out there changing lives.

Our Puppy Raising Process

OUR MISSION

Enhance lives through the unconditional love of dogs. The only way to achieve that is to be able to produce stable, well-rounded dogs that would be suited as therapy, facility, emotional support, and service dog prospects.

We carefully nurture and expose our puppies starting at day 3 to ensure we can accomplish this goal.

WHAT GOES INTO EACH PUPPY?

At Aussome Aussies, our top priority is to achieve results, and we know that our success depends on the quality of our puppies. Our approach is to promote programs that will help advance our work. Check out what goes into each puppy:

AUSSOME DAYS - STARTS DAY 3 until DAY 16

ENS, Scent Introduction, and Physical Touch

5 daily exercises to produce neurological stimulation
13 unique scents - 5 seconds per puppy per day
Short periods of daily handling

AUSSOME TRANSITION - DAY 17- 21

Let the "Aussomeness" begin...

Daily exposure to different experiences, noises, and people. Building a great foundation for different environments, and sounds, to prepare physically and mentally for all future experiences.

AUSSOME SOCIALIZATION

Core concepts, start training, Puppy Party

Since we raise our puppies with a mix of Avidog and puppy culture protocols, get ready to see the daily/ weekly progress of our puppies as we expose them to many different situations.

AUSSOME PUPPY - DAY 49

Temperament testing - Puppies are evaluated for suitability for service dog work. Puppies that fit the criteria and are selected as possible candidates are being donated to service dog partner organizations.
